However, Lakers head coach JJ Redick argued that James should already have more points on record. The NBA has yet to count his 75 points from three Play-In Tournament games and 24 points from the 2023 In-Season Tournament championship game toward his career totals.
“I think those games should count, for sure, in the playoffs,” Redick said.
